New compounds, inhibitors of RAC1 and theirs use for treating disorders of the airways, especially for treating asthma

The small GTPases of the Rho family (RhoA, Rac1 and Cdc42) play a central role in SMC functions, including migration, proliferation and contraction. However, the molecular mechanisms responsible for ASM contraction and proliferation in asthma-associated assisted reproduction are still largely unknown.

Recent research has identified the major role of RAC1 in ASM contraction and its involvement in assisted reproduction associated with allergic asthma. Excessive bronchoconstriction associated with allergic asthma and assisted reproduction have been shown to be dependent on RAC1 activity.This discovery could be used to develop new, more effective asthma therapies targeting RAC1 activity.
